Living Room without vanilla...

A cool modern interior without vanilla. Maybe one could give it a bit more dimension and a little place for dreaming. This silk painting Guilin could supply that. Water and stone - a natural composition... Would you agree?

Hawaii and Morocco...

In times where I am sad I tend to look back and recall memories that heal my soul.
What could be more consoling than the landscapes on the Hawaiian Islands that I love so very much. Their greens are so soothing and the ocean's horizon is so far away that you feel there is a mergence of heaven and waters.

This room from the Moroccan Interiors is perfect of course without any additional stuff - it is simply marvellous. Still I could not hold back to play with one of my favourite silk paintings: The Valley. So I placed it seemingly into this awesome room to see how it would look like. What do you think about it? Check details by clicking on the link or on the photo below.

How to turn a simple Living Room into something extravagant

I like the colours of this room and its simple classical style. This is a wonderful prerequisite for doing something out of the norm: giving this illustrious paravent the right stage to be admired. Could you agree?
Would you like to see more details of his handcarved triptych which is called Krishna and Radha then please check this link.

A Sofa and a Silk Painting...

What do you think about this sofa? Isn't it a hoot? I must admit I just love it and have the perfect matching silk painting: Sepia. A shame for an artist and her work? Not at all - just the perfect match of two beauties, ready to be staged in a living room or loggia or...

A cosy Bedroom and old Facade on the Wall...

I love the colours of this bedroom, its charme and rural elegance - in my eyes everything fits perfectly in an environment in the countryside.
The painting on the wall is an acrylic painting The Facade from my architectural series. You can see more details here if you like or click on the second photo.

A Silk Carving in a Spanish Room

Can you talk about the charm of decay? Normally I would say this is contradictory because decay never contains charm. Decay is linked to poverty or at least impoverishment and there is nothing charming about it. But this room tells a different story. It may be in an old Spanish villa or mansion somewhere in the highlands of La Mancha or in the south, loaden with history and many stories. These walls have a lot to tell...

The Landscape in the Entrance Hall

This entrance hall would be cold, clinical and a bit hostile unless you make it somehow interesting - with a landscape painted on silk. And what could be more fascinating than the landscapes around Guilin with their incredible archaic magic?
I can tell you - the photo does not do any justice to this painting. If you stand right in front of it - it becomes totally 3D! You think you can walk right into it...

The Colour White is the Colour of Purity...

I am not a friend of pure whites simply because I am a colour person (please see my other blog Blooms and Blossoms - that's all about colour!)
But there are people who love these pure whites and of course I can only attempt to stay within the rules with this painting on the wall which is called - no joke - White Wall and belongs to the series Reminiscences, which is about the painted walls of the old Olmypic Student Village in Munich which has been torn down last year for re-construction (please see photo series if you like).
More details of this painting can be seen here.

The Bedroom that needs more Heat...

No doubt - this is an elegant bedroom and many people think a bedroom should not contain much more than the bed itself. But colours such as these need a compensation in my opinion. So why not bringing in a little bit of heat through the silk scroll on the wall.
Detail you can find here.

A Drawing on the Wall

I an elegant room such as this you cannot place too much additional work. So you need something contemplative. Why not a large drawing on Chinese Paper mounted on black silk.
The drawing is from the Deadly Sins series.

Frozen - a Silk Painting in the Living Room

I think this fits into the season. And what could be a better composition than the warmth of a fireplace and a cool landscape painted on silk?
